Visiting the Reindeer Farm

Visiting the Reindeer FarmMy parents treated us to a visit at The Reindeer Farm in Palmer. It was a beautiful short drive from Anchorage, about 30 minutes on the Glenn and Old Glenn Highways. I was really excited to find out that you get to go in with the herd to feed and pet them! Nathan had a really good time! It was educational and wonderfully hands on!

I learned that you can purchase live reindeer from the farm, but also elk meat. The entrance fees are quite cheap, (by Alaska standards) at $9 for adults and $6 or something for kids.

We made a video about our visit, and there are more pictures of Nathan with the animals below it.

How is April the baby reindeer doing? Saw her on The Thanksgiving marathon- Dr Oakley, Yukon Vet. Wishing her the best!
