We recently finished the Firefighting Unit on Tools in our homeschooling and got a personal invitation for Nathan to visit Anchorage Fire Department’s Station 12 from an employee at C&T Fire; the place we went to learn more about fire extinguishers. Station 12 happens to be the location for all of the small tool repair and maintenance for the entire department, as well as for making and repairing hose. Are the stars aligning for us or what?!
It was really fun for Nathan to handle a lot of tools he’s only learned about. It was also the first time that he has been able to try on real fireman bunker gear! He even got to play with a thermal imager.
